WATCH: Babar Azam Welcomed by Fans at Melbourne Airport

Babar Azam received a warm and enthusiastic reception from fans upon his arrival in Australia, despite facing recent challenges with his batting form. The former captain was among the first members of the Pakistan squad to arrive after the team announcement, greeted by fans eager for photos and well-wishes.

After a brief hiatus from international cricket, having missed the last two matches in the home series against England, Babar is determined to regain his form in the upcoming series of three ODIs and three T20Is before taking a break for the Zimbabwe series.

The rest of the Pakistan squad is expected to arrive soon, with training scheduled to commence on November 1 ahead of the first ODI on November 4.

Earlier today, members of the Pakistan ODI squad arrived in Melbourne for their series against Australia, with the remaining players set to depart shortly, as confirmed by a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with the newly appointed white-ball captain Muhammad Rizwan and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha, offering his best wishes and highlighting the honor of leading the national team.

The PCB has announced the squads for the upcoming tours to Australia and Zimbabwe, featuring the return of key players alongside emerging domestic talents. Pakistan’s white-ball teams will face Australia from November 4 to 18, followed by matches against Zimbabwe from November 24 to December 5.

These tours are viewed as crucial preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy, with selectors focusing on a balanced mix of experienced players and new talent.
