Typically known for producing world-class fast bowlers, Pakistan’s bowling lineup usually features a blend of pace and spin options. However, following the ‘spin to win’ strategy that worked wonders in the 2nd Test, Pakistan approached this match with an even sharper focus on spin, with giant fans and patio heaters being used on the Rawalpindi pitch becoming a topic of great discussion.

Pakistan decided to enter the 3rd Test with the same lineup that featured in the 2nd Test in Multan, with Aamer Jamal being the lone pacer. Despite this, nobody expected Pakistan to stick exclusively to spin bowling for the entirety of the first innings.

Sajid Khan and Noman Ali were anticipated to do the bulk of the bowling due to their stellar performances in the first Test. The remaining overs were mainly bowled by legspinner Zahid Mehmood, apart from just one over of off-spin by Salman Ali Agha.
